Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a recently described inflammatory disease involving multiple organs. Prostate involvement with IgG4-RD is very rare. A proportion of patients currently diagnosed with prostatic hyperplasia or CP/CPPS might in fact be suffering from a monosymptomatic disease manifestation of IgG4-related prostatitis. It is imperative to make this an important entity to diagnose correctly to avoid misdiagnosis and unnecessary surgeries. There’s also an increased risk of IgG4-RD due to immune dysregulation caused by cancer treatment such as chemotherapy and radiation.
